I honestly nearly DNF this story. The first few chapters were pretty bad, but the story evened out a little so I continued reading.Bree is twenty-five and is ridiculously immature and over the top. She overreacts to everything and constantly throws temper tantrums. Julian Masters, is in his late thirties and raising his two children after his wife died. He’s abrupt and judgmental on occasion, but when he got mad it was usually for a good reason. Both of these characters needed to work on their patience and speak to each other before making assumptions and yelling.The writing style is a little different than what I’m used to and there are a number of typos/missing words throughout the story. I liked Julian’s mom and his best friends and I also liked the relationships that Bree was able to develop with Julian’s children. The main character’s age difference never causes any problems. I’ve had dogs and cats all my life and they have never acted like that.The story is told from dual POVs and has a happy ending. The storyline was good, but there were so many errors. I loved the hero and heroine but it was really frustrating to constantly stumble upon typos and other issues such as keeping names right. The dogs name being Millie and then later on Tillie for example. Would probably be 4 stars if it wasn’t for that.
